Everybody Loses 015 | The Big Bang Theory and Nirvana

February 21, 2017

When you're fifteen and Podbean tells you they love you, you're gonna believe them. In the latest episode John and Matt give their thanks to Podbean for choosing Everybody Loses as one of their featured podcasts, and welcome the following wave of new listeners. After an update on the photo ops and eating habits of President Trump, our hosts share their disdain for handshaking and make a few jabs at the French (luckily we have no listeners from France yet). In the Everybody Loses segment John, who recently revealed his hatred for the TV show The Big Bang Theory, must argue why it's a great show, while Matt, who has an equally strong hatred for Nirvana, must explain why they were musical geniuses.

February 14, 2017

Love is in the air in Episode 14! This week, John and Matt deal out some pointers and tips for treating your valentine right. After our hosts discover some startling news involving the ongoing saga of Shia Labeouf, they discuss the "cash me ousside" girl and other recent pop culture sayings (and even make one of their own). In the Everybody Loses segment John, a guitar player, must describe why the piano is the superior instrument while Matt, a loyal watcher of Netflix and HBO shows, must argue why network TV shows are better.

Everybody Loses 013 | Skiing and Winter

February 7, 2017

John and Matt return from their short break to regale their audience with the misadventures that occured while on a trip to the mountains of Pennsylvania. After some quick jabs at celebrities like Winona Ryder and Shia "The Boof" Labeouf, Matt informs John of a conspiracy theory involving the Berenstain Bears that may shake the very fabric of this reality (seriously). In the Everybody Loses segment, John, who recently tried his hand at skiing and came up short, must explain why skiing is the greatest sport he's ever participated in, while Matt, a true boy of summer (as Don Henley would put it), must argue why winter is the better season.

Everybody Loses 012 | Cats and Dictators

January 23, 2017

New President, same podcast. On Episode 12, John and Matt discuss the Inauguration of the latest leader of the free world, DJ Trump. Our hosts theorize as to what sort of greeting the former Presidents gave to Trump (and each other) and how Trump will fare in general. The two also discuss how, under pressure from the Boss himself, a Bruce Springsteen cover band backed out of playing an inauguration party in our own state of New Jersey. In the Everybody Loses segment John, a dog owner, must argue why cats are better than man's best friend, while Matt, a true lover of democracy, must explain why dictatorships are better than good old 'murican freedom.

Everybody Loses 010 | 2016 and Shoobies

January 9, 2017

We go forward by looking back on this week's episode, the first Everybody Loses of 2017. After a brief conversation discussing the loss of two of 2016's last victims, Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds, John and Matt each list their personal best thing and worst thing about 2016. Matt also tells John about an absurd news headline he read concerning the handling of Carrie Fisher's remains. In the Everybody Loses segment, John is challenged to discuss why 2016, a generally hated year, was the best year in recorded history. Matt, a year-round resident in a summer tourism shore town, is forced to explain why the mass influx of Pennsylvanians known as shoobies are great people.

Everybody Loses 009 | Women and Whisky

December 29, 2016

In the last episode of the now-dreaded year 2016, John and Matt (who have now both seen Rogue One) enter into a spoiler-filled discussion of the latest addition to the Star Wars movie universe. In the latest I Have a Theory segment, John risks his life to bring to Matt his theory of Santa Claus himself being a saboteur and informant for the big toy companies. In the Everybody Loses segment, Matt, seemingly all out of knowledge about his friend, makes John argue why being a woman is better than being a man. After struggling free from that awkward conversation, John forces Matt to sound off on why his beloved whisky (that's right, spelled without an e) tastes worse than any other liquor.

Everybody Loses 008 | Halloween and Beards

December 19, 2016

In Episode 08 (Rogue Podcast), a seemingly normal conversation about Jim Carrey's How the Grinch Stole Christmas evolves into a nonsensical rambling involving bad and/or creepy jokes. Following their suicide-pact on movie spoilers, Matt gives his spoiler-free review of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. In the Everybody Loses segment, John's assignment is to give three reasons why Halloween (his favorite holiday) is the worst of all holidays, while Matt, a bearded man, must give three reasons why beards make a person "look bad."

Everybody Loses 007 | The Matrix Trilogy and DC vs Marvel

December 12, 2016

In Episode 07 (The Podcast Awakens), Matt and John give a brief review of a cinematic staple that John has recently watched for the first time: The Rock starring Nicholas Cage and Sir Sean Connery. John regales Matt with a new tale of a wacky character he saw walking down the street. In the Everybody Loses segment, as payback for Episode 01, Matt makes John explain why his beloved Matrix trilogy is unoriginal, while John challenges Matt to come up with a few reasons why the DC movies have the upperhand on their Marvel counterparts.

Everybody Loses 006 | Pearl Jam and the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy

December 5, 2016

In Episode 06 (Return of the Podcast), Matt and John attempt to guess which high-profile figures have been seen entering Trump Tower via CSPAN's live stream. Matt takes his own stab at the I Have a Theory segment, explaining why he thinks the Terminator franchise (and possibly the Spike Jonze movie Her starring Joaquin Phoenix) is a prequel to the Matrix franchise. In the Everybody Loses segment, John rustles up a few cases against his favorite band, Pearl Jam, and Matt makes Star Wars fans around the country lose their wings by arguing why the Prequel Trilogy is superior to the Original Trilogy.
